Firestone wireless airbag controll

After years of airing up my air bags manualy if finally decided to install an on board compressor. I use my truck for work as well, hauling construction materials and my JD 2520 on a 16ft flatbed. I own 7 trailers. I need to change my settings often. I trade trucks every 2-3 years so I have been able to transfer my set up from truck to truck. After looking at the options I went with the firestone light duty wireless setup. I mounted the compressor, controll modual, and the manifold block to a pc of diamond plate I had laying around. I made the diamond plate of a size to fit in the spare battery slot under the hood. All the components are now under the hood and out of the weather. I simply ran new airlines back to each air bag and hooked everything up. I can adjust each bag seperatly from in the cab with the wireless controller. It has 3 one button presets. What is really nice for me when I load the tractor depending if I have the loader, box blade, mower, all or none, I can now make air bag adjustments after everything is tied down. With the camper I always ran 50lbs. I can fine tune that as well depending on road conditions. When I get my new 2014 next fall I should be able to remove the components and transfer the whole system to the new truck. Time will tell how it holds up but for now I reall y like the system. I store the controller in the console untill I need it. No holes or air lines in the cab. Its all digital.
  • My control box and pump is under my air cleaner under the hood also. Made a nice installation for it. It does make a pain in the you know where if you need to trouble shoot it but it is in a protected area.
  • As I first said time will tell. Mine will will get it within 2 lbs. If I want it exact I have to re-enter the setting. I think I paid $324 delivered to the door step from amazon. The manual set up with guages was like $279. I did end up buying some extra tube because I did not want to many splices. If it works as advertised its worth it to me. No time for photos sorry I mowed last night till 9;30. The pump, controll modual, and manifold all fit on a 10x12 square or whatever a normal truck battery is. The remote is about the size of a pac of cigarets. Just google firestone wireless air command, it should come right up. They tell you to mount it on the frame and sell a kit for that. Then they tell you to keep it away from water and the elements. Around hear those to statements don't jive. Under the hood its protected from the road salt. So far I am very happy with it. I plan to load the camper and do a little trip next week. That will be the real test. With the tractor and work trailers its been handy.
  • I also have the wireless controller but I have had problems with mine. When I try to go down in air most of the time they just set there and after numerous tries it finally airs down. I also have never been able to get one any of the present buttons to set correctly. The instructions for the unit leaves a lot to be desired on the usage of it unless they have changed the instructions over the last couple of years. I also have a leak in my right side and I have yet been able to find it. I squirt soapy water everywhere and still have not found it. When I want to put more air in the bags I set the pressure and then sit and wait for it to decide if it is going to air them up. I have put 30 PSI on the remote and then it starts to fill and then it might stop at 25 and then I have to put it at 30 again and after several tries I'll finally get them up to the 30 that I wanted.

I hope you have better luck with your system. It does save a lot of getting out and airing up the bags but I wish I could of installed the one with the gauges and manual setup but with my truck with the KR console there is really no place to put the gauges and switches to run the compressor. I don't change mine that much so I'm thinking running some lines so I can adjust mine with my compressor. I don't change them that much so unlike you with all of your different trailer I can see where it would be a hassle for you.
  • When you post the photos, include a link to the controller. :B
