You are :W ... up to 15% of the trailer's gross weight loaded & ready to camp should be presented as gross tongue weight which is transferred to the tow vehicle. Once WD is engaged a portion will transfer back to the trailer but the majority will be borne by the TV ... ergo, the tires need not support the entire gross weight of the trailer.
ah, of course. i knew i must've been missing something. With that, if i were at max GVWR of 3626, 15% would be 544. Therefore trailer tires need to support 3082. With load rating of 3410, I should have roughly (3420-3082)/3420 = .098 which is roughly 10% reserve capacity. coincidentally close to the 9% number i arrived at in error :p
