First long pull
Pulled yesterday ( 400miles) with my new to me 99 f250 sd. Pleased with the power but a bit disappointed with the fuel mileage (9.5 mpg ) when we stopped at 300 miles. Do I have an unrealistic expect...

I always try to fuel at 1/4 tank only took walking to a gas station years ago to teach me that lesson. Silverado ran out while showing 1/8 tank
I need to stop within 200 miles anyhow and we usually go to places we've been before so stations and stops are pre planned. I've been lucky so far in not running out. I've thought about taking the 5 gallon gas can with us just in case.
