I wonder if part of the roof AC problem is that when they installed it they did not have the belly pan. That is the part that bolts to the roof and keeps the water out of the camper. It also keeps the condensation water from the AC going outside the camper instead of running inside. After you remove the AC it will be apparent if the pan is there or not.
