I would review the TT owner's manual re the care and maintenance for the gray and black water tanks.
A previous TT we owned the manufacturer's recommendation was to keep 5 gallons of water in the black water tank at all times. The manual usually will suggest a product for each tank. It also suggested emptying once you began to see the tank becoming full. It suggested not to continuously empty the black water tank. If this is a new TT you do not want to void your warranties.
