I gotta call BS on that. I have owned 11 different vehicles, 8 from new in the past 19 years. EVERY ONE WITHOUT EXCEPTION had at least 1 warranty issue. Most had one or two minor things, and 2 were just terrible, spending weeks in the service bays for warranty (Toyota Tacoma TRD V6 4X4, Nissan Frontier - Lemon buy back ultimately).
Anyhow, the statistical average is around 1.5 problems per vehicle, and those who have none are usually not paying attention.
some statsAnyhow, who wants a $10 aftermarket filter on a $4k engine? The oil filter is easily the most likely part to lead to cancellation of engine warranty.
