It appears that your camper slid because it is riding on that piece of plywood. I have a 4800+ lb. Arctic Fox and it doesn't budge because it sits on a rubber bed mat. I did however put a true 2X6" piece of solid ash across in front of the truck bed to help prevent the camper from riding against the thin headboard used in the trucks now days. The 2X6" helps to spread the load out across the bed of the truck.
The damage was caused by unseen bumps in the road. First one was a cold dark wet stormy night getting off the Edmonds Kingston Ferry. There was a large pit filled with water making it invisable at night. The camper bent out both rear turn buckles, bent forward the front wall, and creased the roof. While I was telling the load person at the ferry terminal to warn drivers about the bump, 3 other RV's suffered the same as I. The ferry traffic load person didn't care and made no effort to warn others. Real helpful soul.
The next instance came from another similar situation where late in the day lighting made things difficult to see. The third instance which necessitated the fix was a demolition load shifting when loading leaving the front bed wall touching the cab. Had to fix at this point. The plywood had nothing to do with the damage. You do something long enough, eventually it's going to get you.
