Good for you, you got it fixed without spending a ton and without getting hurt!
I had similar damage, and fixed it in a similar way, but slightly different.
My damage happened when I was raising the camper off the truck with the remote control electric jacks. The rubber bumper on the left front side of the camper was rubbing on the bed, and it broke off the camper, and got wedged between the camper and the front of the bed. It bent the bed so far that it was rubbing on the cab, and made an annoying noise going down the road.
I used a piece of C channel hooked to a long chain, hooked to a big tree. Then tugged using a gentle application of the throttle, got out and checked, tugged a little more, repeated till straight. I was a little surprised at how well it went.
