Flagstaff Shamrock what to look for

2009 (Build year) 19 foot

What to look out for besides the obvious(leaks, etc). Anything peculiar to these? Overall very good condition. One roof leak in skylight and fortunately leaked into the shower. Nothing into the walls.
How do you secure the front mattress in transit? Seems to just 'hang loose'?

Any help appreciated.
  • Got to use it this weekend. Everything worked perfectly. Used a couple ceramic heaters on both ends(both on low or the circuit breaker would trip). Kept things sufficiently 'warm' even though it was in the low to mid 20s at night. Everyone that checked it out said it looked brand new. It really did good. Still not convinced tent ends are 'our thing' but it was fun.
Anyone know if there are any outlets on a different breaker? I tried a few but the same one would trip if both heaters were on high. Oh and the mattress heaters did not work and reading about them that doesn't sound like much of a surprise.
  • Fix was simple. No real damage. We had a few dry days and I put a dehumidifier in the bathroom to dry things thoroughly. I sealed the crack. It rained. No leak.

Did you use Popup Gizmos or the solar blanket equivalent?
Did you use Reflectix on the inside?
our heated mattresses have worked perfectly for over 8 years now.
I've rarely seen anyone with bad ones. Maybe a bad controller a few times.
do you know that they heat up very slowly and will be warmer once you lay on them?
  • Left them on for hours, testing them out by sleeping in camper in the driveway before we used it. No heat in either mattress. Had heated mattresses in another camper. Don't know what the other stuff you mentioned is but I'll check it out.

you might use a multimeter on the controls, to determine if that is the problem or if it's the mattress.

PUGs/solar blankets and Reflectix are talked about almost daily here. a quick search here on both, will give you weeks of reading.
there are literally thousands of posts/threads about them.

PUGs are the #1 mod for hybrids.
