Flagstaff Shamrock what to look for

2009 (Build year) 19 foot

What to look out for besides the obvious(leaks, etc). Anything peculiar to these? Overall very good condition. One roof leak in skylight and fortunately leaked into the shower. Nothing into the walls.
How do you secure the front mattress in transit? Seems to just 'hang loose'?

Any help appreciated.
  • Should you spray the tent with water proofing? If so what is best?
  • Mine developed pin holes on the canvas near the door opening because it was pinched by bolts set too close. Hard to explain, but the cable brackets come in close contact with the rod that protrudes on the inside. Now that was on a 2006, they may have fixed it by 2009. Aside from that, water can enter through light cut-outs and basically any opening.
  • Weird that they bought a hybrid but never used the tent ends.:h

why would you even buy a hybrid, when a TT would've been a better purchase?

wrap the side straps around the folded down C-hoop and then snap them on.
helps keep the mattress against the bunk door when vertical.
  • I saw the snaps and didn't know where they snapped into. Thanks!
Fortunately I don't think the doors have ever been opened. Older couple just used the interior bedding. Nothing caught in the doors. Doesn't look to be leaks but, yeah sometimes you never know. Heck the stove has never even been used :)
  • The mattress should have straps that snap to the bunk door.

be sure to go over the bunk door area with a fine tooth comb.
many used hybrid buyers have found water intrusion issues later, because they weren't thorough enough.
