I don't have anything on the floor in my AF1150, while showering.
I do keep a small foot rug, like you'd have in your bathroom at home in it at all other times. When I shower, I just take the small mat out and use it to step onto to towel off. Then I dry the shower, and place the mat back in. It does have a rubber backing so it doesn't slide around. My shower looks like it's never been used. No scratches at all that way.
