Ok, 3000 a week for a rental, 150 a day for camping! And it is probalby even more expensive with a view by the shore line. I think I will change my plans. You can go a lot of nice places for that price, and that does not include fuel to get there.
I like the idea to stay at Homestead and drive down, can even do with the boat in the truck bed.
Anybody know some free boat launching places on the keys?
Probably not a bad idea. Have you ever been there? 95% of the Keys IS a shoreline view. The islands are not usually that wide! LOL:)
When this Floridian visited Vermont , while checking in I asked for a "mountain view." The 80 year old owner that was checking me in replied: "They are all mountain views son. You are in the mountains."
What did I know? I come from Florida where a mountain is defined as an interstate overpass. LOL - KidooExplorerOOps!

Easier and LOTS cheaper.

We are interested in staying in the keys for about 2 months the winter of 2015/2016.
It looks like you can rent a 3bd home by the month for under $3,000 which includes enough room to park the truck and it has a boat dock for our sailboat.
I mean, $3000 a month is ouch, but doesn't sound too bad compared to $150 a night for a rv spot?
The only problem with 3 bedrooms and Florida Keys is then relatives start showing up...
Please be careful. The price you quote sounds very low. Many prices seen on websites in the Keys, are $3000.000 per WEEK.
If they are willing to rent that low for a month, I would insist on photos of every room and a statement in the lease that the photos supplied are a fair representation of the property's condition.
Just don't want you to travel cross country to find a dump. - JfetExplorerWe are interested in staying in the keys for about 2 months the winter of 2015/2016.
