Florida Trip

We took our new Host Cascade to Florida for ten days. We boondocked for two nights on the Suwannee River giving us opportunity to put the boat in the river, fish, and enjoy the scenery. We saw beautiful mossy oak trees and visited Manatee Springs with its majestic turquoise colored natural spring and lots of wildlife; deer, fish, and snakes. From there we camped at Torry Island on the southern tip of Lake Okeechobee for a week. We enjoyed fishing Lake O and visiting family and friends in the Miami area. On the way home we stopped at Ormond Beach on the east coast. We visited with Larry and Judy and saw their brand new Host Cascade. Will try to post some photos from the trip and scenery.

  • Faststreak, you were in my neck of the woods. Welcome to Florida. If you want to see Manatee blue springs park in Deland should still have some there. They normally leave for open water earlier but with the late spring they are hanging around the inlets and rivers. If your into tourist trap stuff I think New Smyrna beach is better than Daytona. You can drive on the beach there as well. Not sure about taking your camper though. Anyway, it's a few hours north from where you are but consider yourself welcome.

  • Eddie,

It was a pleasure visiting with you and your lovely wife, Jill in Ormond Beach. It was a rare experience to cross paths the way we did as well as for two Host Cascade Campers to also intersect at this very distant location from Oregon .

For those of you who do not know, Eddie and I both made that long journey to Oregon to pickup our new campers.

I do regret not getting a better picture of the campers together. I see one of Mary and I in the back yard in your photos, so here is one in the front drive of you and yours!

  • I'm jealous! Florida is just a bit too far for us but it looks wonderful.
  • I believe it was one of the rv.net moderators that created the link below to help with posting pictures. It works great.

At your home screen, right click, select new, then shortcut. Copy the link below as the location, select next and give it a name like RVnetPhoto, then select finish. This short cut will take you to the picture hosting site quickly any time you need to post a picture.

I keep it on my home screen next to my rv.net short cut.

To post a picture, double click your newly created shortcut "RVnetPhoto". Drag the photo you want to post to the host window and drop. It will return a link. Just copy the link and past it into the rv.net message window.

You won't see the photo until after you post the message.

You'll get the hang of it after a few posts.
