Seriously, I'm glad to see Ford go with the aluminum. It's progress in my opinion. I believe it will make insurance rates a little high at first but once it gets going and more shops learn to work with it and repair it things will even back out. I see the automakers eventually going to more plastics for structural parts on these trucks. Cars have been using it for a while now.
I cannot see repairing a damaged aluminum frame. I see a lot of either total losses or frame replacement. Aluminum isn't going to be as easily repaired/straightened as a steel frame would as it would lose a lot more structural integrity.
