I just test drove a F250 6.2 CC SB a few days ago. It had all of 53 miles on it.
It's a BIG gas engine. The trip meter for one freeway exit to and from the dealer reported 10.4 mpg, but I put my foot in it pretty good. It had 3.73 gears.
It has power to move a huge 7000 lbs truck around, and power to pass a semi at 75 mph, but it sucks gas, because it's a big engine lugging a huge truck around. You can buy a whole lot of gas for the price of a $8300 diesel engine option, plus the oil changes are not 15 quarts either. Much less hassle.
No surprises there. It's on my very short list of things to seriously consider buying.
