Ford 6.2 F-350 4.3 rear end

Would like to buy a 2017 6.2 F350 lariat with the 4.3 rear end. The 4.3 rear end is hard to find though. If a person calls Ford up are they able to track the trucks with the 4.3 rear ends to the dealers and let you know any locations?
  • Lots of experience towing with our 15' F250 4x4. We have an Arctic Fox Silver Fox Travel Trailer, it weighs around 8500# dry. Not sure of it's loaded weight, but it's heavy .. The 6.2 & 4:30's was a great match. We recently traded the 15' for a Diesel Dually for our new Lance 1172 Camper. The 15' was my favorite of all the trucks I've owned.

Only the 4:30 or 3:73 with Ford gas engines I believe. The 4:30 would still be superior anyway IMO.

  • IIRC, when ordering, you can figure the incentives offered, but if they expire, or change, before you take delivery, you will have to accept what is offered at that time.

  • When you ordered your truck from Ford through the dealer did you still get the incentives being offered at the dealership?

First 4.30 gears are the only way to go if you are using your truck to pull a trailer.

You will have a hard time finding a 6.2 with 4.30 gears on a dealer lot, after looking country wide on Ford's site I found 0 on dealer lots so I ordered one.

  • Do you have to have it yesterday?

my old truck was running fine so I just ordered mine with the 4.30 diffy.
  • Swing by your dealer and have them look. You can tell them all the options you're wanting and they can put that into the computer and it will tell them where those trucks are. Its how I found mine.

I'm in NC. The truck was in Ohio. But it had all twelve options I wanted so that's where I went to get it.
  • I could be wrong but if you've got a good local dealer I think a nationwide search is possible at the dealer level. Might try starting there or calling Ford to find out. May be better off just finding one to test drive with that gear ratio then order exactly what you want.
