- BenKExplorerIMHO...us serious off roaders and serious boy racers have known this for decades
Torsional Rigidity and married with either ladder frame or monocoque (Unibody)
That is why 'most' ladder frame cross members 'used' to be riveted on. Now see
many that are welded.
The monocoque/unibody that sits on top of the ladder frame and their doughnuts
take a beating off roading and why I go sloooooow out there.
Goes with us scientists at SunLabs coinage of 'red/green light designers'. CAD
and it's simulation is only as good as the input spec for the software.
Another goes with the opinion that the designers of today have lost touch with
the real world. Desk jockeys the lot...well...there must be 'some' who actually
wrench their own, off road, tow heavy, and drive HARD...
Frame and body torsional rigidity might be another spec I'll be asking for... - Jay_PatExplorer
