Ford 7.3 Diesel...only 185 HP
Hard to believe that the first 7.3 was only 185 horsepower. Was also IDI (In Direct Injection) and non turbo for those who were not paying attention to diesel powered trucks back in the late 80's.:...

Those numbers kind of surprise me for the early Fords. Dad had a 6.9 that he only used 3rd and 4th gears because "it didn't need the others". He would spin the tires on that old 6.9 almost at will. The couple of follow up 7.3s were dogs in comparison. That was until I got my 95 7.3 PSD. That convinced him that turbos were really good. ;)
