Hard to believe that the first 7.3 was only 185 horsepower. Was also IDI (In Direct Injection) and non turbo for those who were not paying attention to diesel powered trucks back in the late 80's.:...

Used to work at and salvage yard and we had a early 90's super duty tilt bed. That truck was a dream to drive it went down the road so nice and stright. But it took a foot ball field to trun that thing around.
And if you put two cars on it you were in for a long ride home. Ever hill was about 20 mph . But get her on a long flat stright away you could bury the speedo.
of course I 19 young and dumb.
