Probably the best thing is go drive a couple different models with the 7.3 gas engine.
It won't be loaded like when you're traveling/camping but, it will give you an idea of what to expect.
Ford spent a lot of money designing and developing the new 7.3 to replace the reliable V-10.
I'm guessing it will be equal to or better than the V-10.
