So basically the test was just as subjective as all fuel mileage claims?

And anyone who obsesses over gas mileage in a 8000lb truck literally pulling its own weight, needs a new hobby.
Any of y’all who have experience with a lot of vehicles, know that generally the differences are subtle. And save for the most controlled tests, not reliable.
