Ford day time running lights

It's my understanding that all modern vehicles have daytime running lights that cannot be turned off. Sometimes they don't turn on until the vehicle is in gear.

My truck id few years older and I can turn mine off.

I hate the newer ones that can't be turned off.

The 2016 Super Duty is not equipped with Day Time Running lights. Having said that I would suggest you ask this question over a Ford Truck Enthusiasts web sight. There might be an aftermarket upgrade that allows the front lights to operate only.

I would almost bet they can be activated by a dealer simply changing the country code.
In general, most auto's use the stadard lights at a reduced duty cycle.
What ever the case, it wont hurt to ask a Ford dealer!

Have you run through the Vehicle Menu on the dash? There should be a DRL option under lighting.

There is a way. If the recycled former uhaul matchbox transit vans we got at work a month or two ago have that option, to have on or off. I would suspect that an F series is similar.

What is so difficult to turn the switch on. It will ding it you leave them on as you exit.

Turn on the lights is not the same as having daytime running lights.
with DRL only the front headlights illuminate, marker lights and rear lights do not illuminate with DRL.

I need to check my 2008 F250 - it has an "automatic" position on the headlight switch. I've always thought that would make the headlights daytime running lights.

I don't see that there would be anything wrong with just turning on your "regular" headlights. Sure it turns on marker and rear lights. Just makes you more visible.

Is having additional lights turned on during daylight a bad thing?
