Thanks Mvander. Clear now.
ziggy, I think the trailer stabilization package is what I know as the anti-sway. If so, I bet it is standard, as it is implemented by using the ABS system.
GM now has a similar system with the Max Trailering package.
As far as the Tow Beast vs Daily Driver debate, I think it has to be thought through based on how much of each type of driving one does. Even for a daily driver my truck is pretty low mileage, as I average about 18,500 kms per year. I towed about 2600 kms last year and anticipate only towing about 2000 kms this year becasue we will have a seasonal location for a good portion of the summer. That means that only 10-15% of the time will my truck need to be real TV. So, for me at least it becomes a little clearer. I would rather be comfortable and more economical in a half ton for 85% of the time than to have a truck that has capabilities beyond even my requriements for 15% of the time in a 3/4 ton. If the numbers work, there is no reason to not tow with a half ton.
If I was a full timer putting on lots of tow miles, the percentages would be flipped, and I would see it from the other perspective.
YMMV
