Well I don't believe that is the case with the Honda, I know for a fact the Ridgeline has huts welded into the frame box section for mounting the Factory 2" receiver. I would assume that the Odyssey has the same.
Odyssey seems to be the same.
Odyssey hitch install, 2016 model.
But this is not about engineering......it's about perception and bias. Long live the F250 for carrying the kids bikes.
Wife drives a Honda Pilot which I believe is based on the same vehicle? Who's biased? Should I tow with the Pilot because the Unibody is better engineering than a body on frame? Please enlighten me.
Well as long as you install the correct hitch and adhere to the Pilots 3,500# max tow capacity, and the trailer is loaded correctly.
As I stated we towed a 4,800# U-Haul box trailer, with three adults, two large dog, the Ridgline's trunk full and had zero issues! DD and I traded driving duties and she found it a comfortable to drive as I, and this was over the Continental Divide.
DD also used it to pull a two horse trailer locally to a couple of riding events.
Would it haul her two horse slant Gooseneck, with a 10,000# GVWR, of course not!
Once again you don't need a dually to pull a Popup!
Just keep in mind a Unibody pound for pound is stronger and stiffer than a body on frame.
