I'd buy one if I didn't need (and let's be honest...want) a heavier truck. I'd want to know a little more detail before I took the plunge, though. What sort of injection pump? Timing belt, chains or gears? Auto off on stops? What sort of axle ratings does it have?
The concept is great, though. Good for light to medium towing and fantastic fuel economy when commuting or hauling the family off on a road trip. I'm sure it's not as fast as the EcoBoost but I'm also sure it's plenty fast for what I'd want.
Exactly. My situation is that I tow a 9500 lbs camper and am a family of 4. We need about 2000 +/- lbs of payload for the camper and the stuff we bring on most trips. I think Ford will sell quite a few of these trucks, and if they get around 30 mpg on the highway it will help meet raise their CAFE standard, as opposed to the rest of the F150's average half that fuel economy.
