That is incredibly stupid. I remember when I was researching trucks back in 2008 and 2009 and GM refused to offer the 6.2 V8 in their lower trim half ton trucks. I found the 5.3 to be lacking in power for me and I refused to pay thousands of dollars for upgraded features (and weight) that I didn't want.
It makes perfect sense if they actually can sell all they can build. Why put them in lower trim levels with less profit margin if they don't have to?
