That is incredibly stupid. I remember when I was researching trucks back in 2008 and 2009 and GM refused to offer the 6.2 V8 in their lower trim half ton trucks. I found the 5.3 to be lacking in power for me and I refused to pay thousands of dollars for upgraded features (and weight) that I didn't want.
I guess they have limited availability ?If I wanted a loaded 1/2 ton with a diesel and couldn't get it because they put a crapton in fleet XLT's, I would not be happy and Ford would lose a high ATP sale.
So not stupid
