The 2000 pound payload will work for some of us. I have towed my current 5er with a 2011 Chevy half ton and now a 2012 diesel F250. A world of difference, but my pin is 1240#, loaded for a long trip (RK model and she is tail heavy), so the 2000# payload will still leave about 750# for me, wife and dog. It has to pull better than that poor Chevy (80# shy of max). By the way, the door sticker on my F250 only gives me 2556# so this may work. I will be ready to trade in 2020, maybe I can get an XLT then, since my tail likes cloth seats. Or I will look for a crooked fleet sales guy! Oh yes, Ford claims that they rated the diesel F150 by the new J standard.
