Personally, with my F150 I would rather tow a 9500lb fifth wheel with the stability of the 5th wheel then a 7000lb trailer with bandaids...wdh, antisway, etc. each to his own...
Well you won't be towing a 9500 lb 5th wheel unless you have an HD if you want to be under the RAWR, GVWR. Yes 5th wheels are inherently more stable and if you meet the payload for the pin weight then by all means go for it.
I have towed a 7300 lb TT with an F150 with Max Tow (Not HD) and until I used a Hensley Arrow it was all hands on deck in windy situations. It always felt like the truck and TT were just getting by. I switched to a Ram 2500 CC LB and the struggles went away.
I also currently tow a 9000 lb 5th wheel with that Ram 2500 and it's a breeze. Unless I have 2300-2400 lbs for payload then I would be over weight. 1800 for the pin, 280 for passengers and ?? for other gear in the truck and I'm over the RAWR on non HD trucks.
Do as you please.
