I'm sure the decision on the distribution of this engine is based on engine production capacity and maximizing profits from this supply. So Ford chose to put this engine in their higher profitable trucks and cater to the commercial sales.

Bottom line if Ford can sell every diesel truck they can build I'm sure production capacity will increase if this becomes a success.
