Not really. Diesel engines generally get higher than EPA estimates in the real world depending on how much highway driving you do. The way the EPA certification tests are designed, gas engine generally post higher EPA numbers than the real world mileage while diesels will general post lower EPA numbers than what you get in the real world.
I think this was very true prior to the VW emissions cheat. I don’t know if it will still hold true now.
In regard to your earlier post about putting this engine in the Expedition EL (which I would love to see) I am curious why you might support/be interested in that when you have clearly stated you don’t like it in a truck.
