I don't understand what you are saying about the 11k tow rating?
For the record, my stance is this is a great option for the vast majority of 150/1500 owners that will never tow much, if anything. Or for the many that tow a boat or small horse trailer. I would gladly trade the towing power of the 6.2 in my Denali to get a significant increase in MPG. This engine would be ideal to tow my 7000ish pound boat.
Oh I wouldn't buy one. It is way to under powered for my preferences and what I tow. I would buy a 3.5L Ecoboost if I ever went back to half ton. I am comfortable enough with its fuel economy and prefer the power. So yeah, that is my position for my preferences.
However, I understand that not everyone is like me and some may be willing to compromise power and capability for more fuel economy. So when I say it would be a nice compliment, I mean for the market this truck is trying to target. Can I not dislike something for me but see value in it for others or do I have to dislike it for me and think that everyone else should too?
