I won’t argue over what I think is more important vs what someone else values. As for fuel prices, they are much higher than that where I am. I used 2.70 for an average price even though both gas and diesel are more than that right now where I am. I used 2.70 for both, because as I stated diesel was cheaper almost all of this past year for me, so my savings were actually greater than I posted. You are correct, I did not include fuel filter changes that I do every 20k. I believe they are about $36, so take off an additional $72.
I’m stating that these diesels have a place in the marketplace and I am in that niche. Like you pointed out, if you want something with more hp because you care less about efficiency, this truck is not for you. If I’m the rare scenario, because I value cost and efficiency that’s fine by me. I’m just trying to inform the people who are researching these diesels of my experience and reasoning with them.
