I can understand the need for a diesel in the heavy trucks over the gas when you have a lot of weight to tow. When the higher displacement gas engines come out that window will be made smaller though.

I can't understand the need for a diesel in the F-150 when the EB will outperform it. That's just my opinion and if yours differs that's OK with me.
