I think almost all of us can agree, if you are choosing a diesel to save money, I can almost promise you can save more money by conserving somewhere eles.
a pack of sigs a day is $208 a month
eat out every day is $120 a month
thats just 2
If you buy a diesel because you like a diesel then OK
If you buy a diesel because it serves your needs better OK
but you really need to put alot of miles on your truck for the diesel to save you much money, so that comes into play.
if you only drive 1,100 miles a month " this is us " it don't really pay off.
that only comes out to $30.00 a month savings, thats one time eating out with the wife.
when I factor this in with the astronomical cost to repair a breakdown on a new diesel "if one did happen" it just don't make sense for us.
PS I am a diesel guy also and have owned 5 diesel trucks and still have one for myself.
If you choose a diesel because you can't afford to feed a gas engine.....you probably don't need to buy a new truck.
