Not sure if anyone else has the dissenting opinon on here (haven't read through all 6 pages) but there's a reason I'm looking at the higher trim levels; the leather is usually softer and of better quality than lower trims, and the seats are more comfortable. The wife and I both have back and joint issues, and the heat is a God send on long trips. After spending a couple of years in our "loaded" 3500 Laramie, I can tell you that the leather quality is about the same as Ford's vinyl, and about as comfortable. I've driven the Laramie, Lariat and SLT/LTZ versions, along with the Longhorn, King Ranch and High Country/Denali versions back to back; there is a difference. All of the new features also make the trip that much more comfortable and safe.
The $10,000 + premium for price of admission is more than made up for by not being so beat up at the end of the trip that we can't enjoy why we pulled there to begin with.
You can get heated bun warmers without leather. I prefer the better cloth seats myself. IMO they are softer and more comfy than leather. My Ram came loaded with heated cloth.
