Ford Offering F-150 Incentives

"Ford officials have blamed tight supplies for sales drop, but analysts aren't so sure."

So if the cause of lower sales is because you can't get product, why would you offer incentives to sell more of what you can't provide? LOL!

Sounds like politicians!

And I'm not picking on Ford because they all offer incentives, I got $13,000 off my RAM last year so someone wanted to push some product out the door!

I just think the spin is ridiculous!

About that financing. Not for a F-150, but there is a Kia dealer in Orlando peddling the Kia Soul for $199 down, $199/mo. I paid attention to the micro type in the commercial before it vanished. The terms were based on $199 down, $199/month for 84 months with a $7800 balloon payment on payment #84! And, there was also a $899 'dealer fee'. :E

As the Free Press story stated, June F-150 sales were down 8.9% but wasn't much said as to why. The 44K average price data was from Ford, key word being 'average'. Given one could buy one with a sticker approaching 60K for a Platinum trim line and a little less for a Lariat, you would think there was a fair number of those models sold to bump the average paid to 44K. And the article did mention the incentives are for the time being, 'regional' in nature.

The local TV station here ran a segment about this yesterday and said the local dealers were discounting the F-150 up to $20K. I had seen some local ads just recently showing F-150 discounts of $16K so I guess the TV station could be right. Ford sales must really be in a slump. I know in this area they are NOT #1.

I don't think your model year has the aluminum body, they are more expensive.

I don't know how the average could be that high? I've got all but the premium trim, and paid 12k less. Could they be releasing a false number to make others comfortable paying more?

I would say not too far down the track this will become a problem for all manufacturers

I read elsewhere these discounts were very specific models. The well loaded trucks are still selling at premium with little lot time.
