Just to be totally clear it is a factory warranty BUT it is a Ford racing warranty 36 30 I believe.
As far as why Ford leaves proformance on the table,-CAFE - they don't really care what we get for mileage(ecoboost never gets window sticker numbers) as long as the sales mix meets their obligations ,after that go for it ,$600 is maybe the extra cost of potential repairs.
It's hard for any car to achieve what the EPA estimates it will. The testing protocol doesn't take them higher than 60mph.
