Thanks for everyone's input. I know the Cummins is probably the best diesel engine out there, but just the few negatives about the Dodge package around the motor tells me they haven't changed much.
I've been a Ford enthusiast for 30+ years and looks like it's gunna stay that way !!
I was a die hard Ford guy all my life until I owned a 6.0L diesel. I decided to make a change (see sig) and am very happy with my choice. The Ram was redesigned in 2010 and then again in 2013 with a complete upgrade of the frame and addition of DEF. I would suggest you have a look at them, I think you will be very surprised.
Ford used to be a much nicer truck than the Ram, but that certainly isn't the case any longer! One major thing to consider as well is that the Cummins has a MUCH better exhaust brake than the Ford pre 2015 model which is very important for towing.
I was a diehard GM fan all my life. Purchased a 05 6.0PSD and drove it 7 years 170k miles with no major issue. Purchased a 2012 6.7PSD that has 112k miles and not a single repair or glitch to date. These trucks have served me well.
Also I would advise when truck shopping is to look at the door panel and see what country the truck is built. You may be surprised. I share this request with others around the campgrounds when the debates heat up. This always ends the discussion!
Don't forget to have them smell the exhaust to see what Country the engine is MADE in!
