Whichever brand you choose don't purchase any brand that has a DPF filter that's not equipped with DEF.
Ford implemented DEF in 2011
Ram implemented DEF in 2013 (excluding CC models).
Agree, I'd be very inclined to skip the non def trucks unless it was a screamin deal (which Almost doesn't exist currently) and I was willing to delete.
If i was choosing in the 08-10/11 year range, Dmax would be top of my list followed by early 4th gen Ram.
I wouldn't consider a Pstroke until '15? Whenever they got the exhaust brake figured out. And I've only heard the internet cp4 problems. But see a lot of trucks running them without issue. Cp4 wouldn't scare me away but I might think about that as a fault that needed upgrade before it crashes.
I agree as well that the 08-10 the dmax probably faired the best, but even then they still had their issues. It's comical that most brand fan boys forget about some of the bad years and those first gen dpf trucks had issues. I wouldn't touch a 07.5-12 6.7 cummins, 08-10 Dmax or a 08-10 6.4 PSD.
