Ford Superduty Death Wobble fix

I know this has been discussed before. But I am seeing increasing signs of the DW in our 2012 F350 6.7L 4WD. I see that dual steering dampers is being put forward as a cure. I have a Bilstein single damper but it is over 5 years old.
So has anyone out there tried the dual dampers, did it work and which system did you use? Thanks.
Lastly do my 5+ year old Bilstein front shocks need replacement too?

  • I'm a big fan of Bilsteins.

Bilsteins are good for at least 100,000 miles.
  • Death wobble is a result of worn out/broken parts.

Steering dampers only hide the problem.

    Check:
    Ball joints
    Wheel bears
    The ENTIRE steering set up/system.
    Tire balance
    Lug nuts
    The ENTIRE suspension set up.

Death wobble can be any combo of the above, so you must check them all.
  • Don't forget the upper and lower ball joints, they were the culprits in my 3/4 RAM. Death wobble scared the heck out of me at 60 mph. Took truck to the dealer, they said the ball joints were within spec, went to a Napa garage and the guy wouldn't let me drive home, the left upper almost fell apart it was so worn out.
