Didn't Ford and GM develop the 6 speed tranny together?
I love the six speed in our van. The shifts are really smooth and when we first bought it I had to have the DIC set to the tachometer so that I knew when it shifted.
The only thing that I would change is that it won't shift into 6th until 55MPH. Once in 6th, it will hold it down to 50MPH and when you drop below 50MPH it will drop to 5th. With the driving we do, we are on several roads with 50MPH speed limits. If it would shift into 6th at 51MPH we might pick up a little gas mileage.
