Forest River Alpha Wolf

We are considering moving up to one, in general, how have the Forest River trailers been doing? I have a FR Cargo trailer and it has done me well over the past 5 years or so, not a single issue. I currently have a Coleman 274BH and knock on wood has been completely trouble free since I got it in 16 and it was 2 years old when I got it. We are just about out grown of it, didn't think we would so quickly, but since it was our first, we learned with it, and now are looking for a similar with a slide, which the Wolf does in spades.

Could have something to do with their abysmal build quality and indifferent customer service.
  • For some reason people like to beat up FR on this forum. No matter what brand trailer you buy there will more than likely be problems. Many improvements in newer models. I would lean towards the new Azdel walls becoming more and more available. FR Surveyor and RPod both use it. Check out Azdel and then look for a trailer that uses it. Should help with delamination problems a lot.

  • FR quality can be spotty, depending on the time or day it was built and how close to quitting time it was.... IOW, look it over carefully. It's that 'Amish Craftsmanship' that will get you every time.

We have an FR unit (Palomino) but I really went over it carefully before taking delivery.

As with any RV, it's always buyer beware We have a nice advantage in that the factory is only 50 miles from us, not that I've needed them because I haven't....yet.
