Forest River Roo vs Jayco Jay Feather

Good Morning,

Trying to decide on one of the following

New 2019 Jayco Jay Feather X19H $16,900
or
Used 2016 Forest River Roo19 $12,500

I would appreciate opinions on the Jayco vs Forest River and any regarding these individual models; quality, resale, durability etc
Also, do the prices seems reasonable, high or great buys?

I do like both and am about to pull the trigger but having a difficult time deciding which. Of course new is appealing but it is $4,000 more though in great shape.

Anything you can recommend that I may not be considering?

Thanks folks!
  • thanks for the input and advice. I think I will probably go for the Jayco if it is still available.
    Best to all of you
  • We owned a Rockwood Roo 23SS for 10 years. Was very well built and we only had minor warranty issues, which were fixed.
Jayco and Rockwood have been the leaders in hybrid manufacturing, for 20 years.
I would choose the Jayco, since it's newer. Many hybrid owners don't do the extra maintenance that hybrids need and problems are the result.
The older a used unit is, the more likely previous lack of maintenance will cause issues.
  • FR quality issues aside, I’d buy the new Jayco TT. How old are the tires on the FR? If replacement is needed that’s $600 right there. Brakes? Bearings?
  • While you are waiting search this Forum for the models mentioned.
