Maybe he was saying the person named "go" is at home, in which case it is good grammar. :)
But if "go" was a proper name, it should be capitalized as in Go.
Maybe not in go's culture (another correct use of the apostrophe in this case). You are projecting your cultural biases onto other people. Maybe they use lowercase names. He did not specify the culture.
