Forest River takes their ball and go's home.
Forest River RV, effective June 1 2017, has discontinued offering their optional 2nd year low cost extended warranty, which they have offered on many of their towable brands for quite a few years. The official scuttlebutt as read elsewhere is because some states have enacted legislation that does not allow a manufacturer to offer an extended warranty. ( I assume Ford,GM, and Dodge have not heard the news yet or maybe they're exempt?). Some recent buyer received official correspondence when attempting to purchase the 2nd year plan stating its due to legal decisions.
Being an owner of a Forest River product, I would be willing to bet the real reason is because the bottom line is taking a hit due to the shoddy workmanship and the push them out the door attitude. After completing, correcting, repairing the build issues on our Forest River product we like kind of like it now, but I highly doubt I would ever entertain buying another of their products.
