Forest river travel trailers

We have a 03 FR Wildcat its ok, I don't have any particular complaints. The trailer we had before was a 1986 Wilderness 20j That trailer was just as good as the FR when it comes to basic workmanship or quality. Now there is a huge difference between the two trailer as far as size and option, but the basic build was similar and maybe the wilderness was better.

We had a great trade in offer from a well regarded Flagstaff dealer. The next issue was finding a model to fit our needs. We looked at four or five likely units, all brand new. Two of the five had had active roof leaks, one had a ridiculously loud groaning squeak while walking through it, and another had a water filter hidden behind a wall, in the front storage compartment You literally had to crawl in, and use a screw gun to disassemble the wall to change the filter. The larger slides on every unit had roofs that were sagging visibly, with the interior header trim drooping in the middle.

We bought a Jayco.

2009 Puma 25RS.....love it. No problems so far, well built for the price.

We have a 2009 FR Sierra, still no major issues. Would definitely buy FR again.

We've had our Surveyor for about 1 year. We've been impressed so far. No big issues. A couple of fix it yourself type things.

**** You don't have to sign up to the frog "forest river owner group" website to surf it but its the same as here if you want to respond you do, no big deal and no you will not hear all good. I am a member and there is a lot of good info there......... It is not run by Forest River, but some of their Factory Reps will answer questions from time to time. And yes you will hear some bad issues as any make. I highly recommend that before you buy anything you get on that makes forum.

Also asking about a Forest River is about asking I am going to buy a car how is their quality. Forest River has probably 20 or more makes. Some quality better than others.......

We have a Puma its a Forest River & our second quality is great.

We have had our Flagstaff for six years and really like it! Try the FR forum again, I believe you need to register to post, but not read.

We have a 2013 Gray Wolf 26BH have used it extensively for 2 seasons and the only thing that we have touched is one of the wires came off of the inside of the cable plug up in the ceiling. It was a 5 minute fix and it was never back in the shop at all.

I have a 2015 Coachman (a part of Forest River). We have had major problems all related to poor manufacturing. Shoddy workmanship in plumbing, holding tanks, electrical connections, trim, etc. We have had leaks, trim falling off, even our black holding tank fell out of the underbelly. We, obviously, do not recommend ANY Forest River product. If you get one, get an extended warranty...you'll need it.
