- More2ExploreExplorerJust ordered mine after calling the Northwoods parts department. I needed to understand the "modification" the factory has to do to the bumper for a Wolf Creek 850 retrofit (Dealer parts guy couldn't explain). It turns out it is what they do for factory install and retrofit......they cut down an arctic fox bumper so it will fit a Wolf Creek 850. Will see how this goes!

We have one on our 2013 990. We like every part of it other than the fact if you were in the camper and somebody were to walk by and flip it up you would have a very difficult time getting out. The fire escape may be the only way past that. I think we will devise a way of locking it in the down position. We rarely travel with it in the flipped up position anyway. Our supper hitch extends past it in the down position enough to haul our bicycles and get a full swing open on the door. Love it!
On my addition onto my NL if the step is folded up my rear door still opens. So there is no way someone could lock me in with it. In fact some of the times when I want into the back and I have the Super Truss on I'll just open the door and climb up without putting the step down. There are a lot of places to put my feet. Some day you well probably hear me say that I broke my b*tt climbing in or out doing this. Probably not a good idea. - Ol__GoldExplorerWe have one on our 2013 990. - RZAR66ExplorerTorklift also makes a nice bumper for Palomino TC's. If somehow they could incorporate the Fox Landing and the Palomino Landing Pad together it would make for a really nice set up.

Anyone put a Fox Landing on an older 990? Do you have to buy a bumper or can it be adapted to the factory bumper of the older unit? I have a 2007.
When I checked into it, I was told you have to upgrade the rear bumper on the older units to accomodate the Fox Landing, I saw a new unit a few weeks back and he had the Fox Landing. His rear bumper was much beefier than mine, atleast the under belly supports were. - homefor2ExplorerAnyone put a Fox Landing on an older 990? - Butch50ExplorerThis is what I use for the additional step
Sometime when the rear is high it is a big step but even my old body can step up. At times my wife has a little trouble but she broke her ankle pretty badly a few years back and it still not real sure about her balance but it works.
To stow the step for travel I fold it up and it sets right in between the step into the camper and the folded up Fox Landing. Then I run a couple of bungie cords over it and fasten them to the Fox Landing and it rides there. - MORSNOWNavigator IIIMy 2014 Wolf Creek 850 came with the Fox Bumper installed (with storage tray inside). Next spring I'll be adding the Fox Landing mostly for the added porch area when standing in front of the door and clearance over the always present trailer. The second step isn't much lower than the fold down step on the Fox Bumper, but every little bit helps.
- Mello_MikeExplorerJust thought I'd let everyone know that Torklift contacted me and they are looking into the feasibility of producing an add-a-step for the Fox Landing. Nothing definite at this point but they are looking into it.
I think the Fox Landing is great. If I get a 2014 Wolf Creek I will definitely be getting one. - kerry4951ExplorerBack in 2010 when I bought they had no Fox Landing. Northwood gave you a flip down bumper step and as an option you could get the 2nd one. I got both and together they were nothing more than an accident ready to happen. It was almost laughable how these things work. Even with the two of them, the first step up was way too high, and they actually are tucked back under the bumper too far to make them anywhere near safe to use.
I retired that set up and went with the Torklift Glow Steps. Now it doesnt matter where or how I park, the Glow Steps reach all the way to the bottom. When the Fox Landing was introduced, I considered it, but I decided to stick with something that I know works and works well. If I ordered a new AF TC I would order it with the Fox Landing and try to come up with a system to alleviate the first high step when parked on an incline. Im just not a big fan of having to carry a step stool or small ladder.
