I see no reason why you couldn't. That's why I posted the pics.
I would definitely use a sufficient amount of backing plate. The bumper alone is pretty thin material. If you just through-bolted it without any backing, it would likely eventually bend, loosen and with enough use, break.
If you notice, they angled the plate at the top to get support from the top of the bumper as well. Something to keep in mind.
