Fram Air Hog filters
Anyone have any knowledge/experience with Fram Air Hog air filters? Do they come pre oiled from the box? Is there any other oil that can be used other than Fram? Your experiences/opinions will be appreciated.

They are just like a K&N filter. Oil cotton design. You can use any brand filter oil you want.

- I though I was smart,put a K&N on my bornfree ,years back ,couple thousand miles later my mass air flow sensor was clogged up. ford guy said don,t do this again.
- I had hot rods, modified classic cars 1/2 ton trucks fixed up trying to get extra horsepower for pulling. Been there done that. Come to find out factory equipment wins every time with the least problems in the long run.
- What is the application?
- Inherited a couple of filters & thought I would give them a try in my 7.3 Ford, but I see enough already to make me change my mind. Thanks all.
- Have not read or used that particular filter, but I've used K&N for 15 years with zero issues. I don't see a problem with them but some do. Most people tend to over oil them which will create issues with sensors. I have cleaned the filters and oiled them without any issues. Again I have had zero problems for 15 years, others may have.

- I put a K&N on my 73 Blazer in 1985. It has been there ever since. Probably over 250K on it now.
I put one on mt 2001 Duramax as well... That truck had a mass air sensor. So the right amount of oil is critical for it to work right. I never had any issues in over 130K, but many did. Most do tend to over oil them.
